This hands-on workshop is designed for Emergency Vehicle Technicians who want to acquire or improve their skills in fire truck electrical repair. The workshop is geared towards technicians with little to no formal training in electrical repair but is open to all skill levels. Using the "show, tell, do" method, participants will learn the necessary skills to perform repairs to industry well defined standards, including, pinning and depinning numerous types of automotive connectors, repairing terminals using correct crimp tools, and practicing different soldering techniques. Standards for harness routing and protection will also be discussed. Students will work in small groups of two or three to get personalized attention and hands-on practice. By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with a solid foundation in wire harness repair skills that meet industry standards.
